Our legal basis for processing your data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) includes your consent, the necessity of processing for the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the App.

Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored securely using Firebase (by Google)
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information
• We regularly review our security practices

If you are located in the EU or UK, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU (e.g., the United States). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate protection of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill legal obligations. You can delete your data at any time via the in-app settings or by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by parents or legal guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Any child-related data (such as name or age) is entered by the parent or guardian to personalize story content. Children do not create accounts or use the App independently.

Parents or guardians have full control over the data they provide and may access, modify, or delete it at any time via the App or by contacting us.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information:

• With trusted service providers who assist in operating and improving the App
• When required by law or legal process
• To protect our rights, users, or others' safety

Third-Party Services

To help us maintain and improve the App, we use trusted third-party service providers. These include:

• Firebase (by Google): Used for app performance monitoring, crash reporting, and backend infrastructure. Firebase may collect technical information such as device type, app version, and crash data. We do not use Firebase for advertising or user tracking purposes.
• Retool: Used internally by our team to securely view and manage data stored in our systems (e.g., for support, diagnostics, or troubleshooting). Retool does not collect data from users directly and is not embedded in the App. Access to Retool is restricted to authorized team members and protected by role-based access controls. All access to user data via Retool is logged and monitored for security and compliance purposes.
• Google Text-to-Speech (TTS): Used to convert written story content into audio. Text provided for conversion may include personalized content such as names or preferences. This data is transmitted to Google's TTS service and not retained by us after the audio is generated.
• OpenAI API (by OpenAI, Inc.): Used to generate personalized story content based on prompts provided by users. Input data sent to OpenAI may include personal or contextual information. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and are only permitted to use it to deliver their specific services to us.
